2016, a busy season for Team Arkema Lalou Multi
In March, the Mini 6.50 prototype was unveiled to the general public at the JEC Composites trade show. The result of the Open Innovation project involving Arkema and the Lalou Multi teams, the Mini 6.50 prototype is the world’s very first monohull built with the Elium® recyclable thermoplastic resin. A revolution in the world of sailing!
Lalou Roucayrol, never far away, continues to lend Quentin a friendly hand in his apprenticeship: “My experience enables Quentin to save time and focus on what matters: navigation and getting a feel for the boat. Over the next few months, we will be clocking up races. I’m especially proud to be joining Quentin on this magnificent boat which still harbors so much for us to discover!”
While testing is the order of the day for the Mini 6.50, work now begins on the Multi50’s winter refit, following a highly successful 2016 season. Despite significant damage to the daggerboard, Lalou Roucayrol came in second in the legendary Transat bakerly solo race. This was followed by three consecutive victories in the Transat Québec – St Malo, the Drheam Cup, and the Trophée Prince de Bretagne Sud Goëlo crew races.
